Let me start by saying, I'm no saint. I'm a realist, with a big heart. But when it comes to my work, nothing stands in my way. It's the one part of my life that I understand completely.
I have one person to thank for instilling this in me. My father. He was hard on me. He never made his love unattainable or anything like that, but earning his respect when it came to work-ethic was another story. You see, he's retired military, disabled and has since always had a job. If he were laid off due to cuts, he'd have another job by the next week. I always admired how he never stopped working. If he was discouraged, which I know he was, he never showed it, nor did I notice it. I not only found this inspiring, but it quickly became the "standard of living", in my eyes, as far as adult responsibilities were concerned... (holding a constant job and providing for your family are #1) I guess this is why laziness has always been a pet peeve of mine. Read more
